International Earth Day marked by University of Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Department of Geography, University of Peshawar (UoP) observed the International Earth Day 2022 here on Friday by organizing a function to highlight the importance of the earth and its natural resources among the public.
The event was inaugurated by Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, while Dr Atta-ur-Rahman, Chairman, Department of Geography, faculty, staff members and students were in attendance on the occasion.
The event comprised of four parts e.g. conducting a technical session on conservation and sustainability of natural resources, organizing a plantation drive, release of caged birds and arranging an awareness walk.
Addressing the participants, the Vice Chancellor, UoP, Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees said that we should safeguard the earth and its natural resources as it was the matter of great importance, adding that we must think seriously to reserve a healthy environment with enough resources for our future generations.
