Rebranding KP as ideal place for investment utmost priority: Hassan Daud

PESHAWAR: The Chief Executive Officer, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade, Hassan Daud Butt has said that the KPBOIT under the vision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government was striving on the right path to attract more and more national and international investment and make the province a hub of fast and vibrant economic activities by playing a crucial role in the progress and development of Pakistan.
He shared these views while giving an interview to the Sunrise Today, here on Tuesday. He stated that the KPBOIT’s main task was to attract sustainable investment in all sectors and be the focal point for ease of doing business. He added that his small team was very dedicated towards exploring the investment potential of the province, saying that around USD 200 million local and foreign investment had been attracted to KP which was a great achievement in the present situation and there was hope for more such investment in the near future in tourism, mining, construction and other areas.
The CEO, KPBOIT continued that KP was a very blessed province with the abundance of natural resources such as oil, gas, minerals and hydropower which made that more prominent from other provinces that’s why the KPBOIT had scientifically analyzed the situation of the province during the last years to explore the KP’s all kinds of potentials and made that a gateway of the Pakistan’s economic prosperity, adding that in this regard, the KPBOIT had crafted the KP’s new industrial policy and a 5-year investment strategy to have policy support in attracting investment.
While answering a question, he told that the provincial government, particularly the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and the Special Assistant to CM on Industries and Commerce Abdul Karim Khan were very serious and committed towards high level eco-friendly industrialization and trade in the province through national and international investment while both of them were highly supportive and encouraging in managing the affairs of the KPBOIT.
Due to the keen interest of the provincial government in making KP an investor-friendly destination, the KPBOIT had started one window operation for investors where all types of facilities e.g. guidance in land procurement, investment in SEZs and information on incentives and legal matters were being provided to create an enabling environment and make the province as the right and suitable place for investment, the KPBOIT’s head explained.
He said that the team of KPBOIT was providing fast track and hassle-free services to all those who wanted to invest in KP – the land of growing opportunities, adding that the moto of the KPBOIT was to serve the investors to the best of its knowledge, experience and capabilities, while its doors were always open to investors to serve them with first-class facilitation.
“I assure the investors to get benefited from the government’s flexible and business-friendly policies. The KPBOIT is working in an efficient manner to attract more and more investment and create sufficient employment and business opportunities and support the agenda of socio-economic development of the KP Government,” Hassan Daud claimed.
