Ehsaas Scholarship be awarded to private university students: Dr Mahboob
Education Reporter
PESHAWAR: The Chairman, Mahboob Medical Institute, Dr Mahboob-ur-Rehman has said that although Ehsaas Scholarship was a very great initiative of the government but not including the students of private educational institutions in it was a discrimination and injustice as financially weak and deserving students were also getting education in the private education sector.
He stated this while talking to the Sunrise Today, here on Thursday. Dr Mahboob told that ignoring private university students in such an important scholarship was not good for the progress and development of the education sector, adding that the government should realize the role of private educational institutions as they were imparting education to almost 70 percent students in the country.
He continued that the government should appreciate the services of private universities and colleges that were taking the load of the government on their shoulders and providing education to the students without any grant or package from the government, saying that discrimination in the public and private sectors was not in the interest of the nation as both were important at their own places.
The Chairman MMI maintained that it was the need of the time to include all the needy and deserving students in the scholarship without any discrimination and all the students should be equally treated, saying that he hoped the government and the concerned authorities would look into the matter to facilitate the students with all the available resources in the country.
