AWKUM celebrates World Tourism Day

MARDAN: The World Tourism Day 2021 has been observed by the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) with zest and zeal here on Monday.
A seminar was organized in this regard at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality of the university to highlight the importance of tourism and hospitality sectors among the public. The special guest of the seminar was the Vice Chancellor, AWKUM, Prof Dr Zahoor-ul-Haq, while faculty members and students were among the participants.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor, AWKUM offered suggestions regarding the impact of Corona epidemic on tourism industry and said that the tourism sector had suffered a lot due to lockdown so the best solution was to open it by following the SOPs.
He also congratulated the Department of Tourism and Hospitality for launching the MS program and stated that it would bring more knowledge and recognition to the university on national and international level. Meanwhile, some of the faculty members also presented their papers in the seminar.
