World Disability Day marked at MMI

PESHAWAR: The World Disability Day has been jointly observed by Mahboob Medical Institute (MMI) and Habib Physiotherapy Complex (HPC), Peshawar here on Friday.
A seminar was arranged in this regard in which the Secretary Social Welfare Department Manzoor Ahmed Khan participated as chief guest, while the Chairman MMI and HPC Dr Mahboob-ur-Rahman, Director Dr Altaf-ur-Rahman, faculty members, students and people from different walks of life were present on the occasion.
The speakers while addressing the seminar, highlighted and appreciated the role of physiotherapy, psychotherapy and other rehabilitation services and disciplines in the rehabilitation and recovery of special persons.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary Social Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assured the facilitation of special persons and said that the government would cooperate with MMI and HPC in the noble cause of serving the disabled people.
Dr Mahboob-ur-Rahman stated that he was ready to strengthen the social welfare institutions in collaboration with the government and the concerned authorities. He also appreciated the idea of public private partnership proposed by the Secretary Social Welfare.
