Center should resolve energy crisis of KP: Ahmad Kundi
News Desk
PESHAWAR: The power and gas crisis has turned to a serious issue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and unfortunately, in KP, which supplies the most gas and electricity to the state, continuous and unannounced load shedding of gas and electricity and low voltage and low pressure has made the lives of the people of the province unbearable, said the PPP’s MPA Ahmad Kundi on the unannounced loadshedding of gas and electricity in the province.
In a press statement issued here on Friday, he said, “The power generation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 25 billion units per annum while we need 10 billion units but still there is loadshedding and low voltage. Why is our destiny like this? Our province provides 495 MMCFD per day to the state in terms of gas while the people of the province need 200 MMCFD daily. What's worse is that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa still has a federal excise duty.”
“Our province is rich in electricity, gas and oil and provides many times more to the state than we need, but still electricity is not in the destiny of the people of our province,” added Ahmad Kundi, Member Provincial Assembly and member of the Standing Committee on Energy and Power.
