Former student leader Ajmal Mayar passes away

MARDAN: Former divisional president of Pakhtun Students Federation (PSF), Ajmal Mayar passed away after protracted illness and laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Mayar here on Tuesday.
His Namaz-i-Janaza held at his native village Mayar. A large number of people from different walks of life, including university employees, journalists and ANP and PSF workers attended the funeral prayer.
Ajmal Mayar was an active member of Awami National Party. He played an active role in students’ politics and remained divisional president of PSF while he was also the president of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Employees Union.
Apart from this, he was also charged in Mashal Khan lynching case occurred at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) on 13th April 2017. Later on, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) acquitted him.
