‘Work Around’ is best plan for investment, youth employment

PESHAWAR: The plans launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) for the development of IT sector in the province are commendable.
This was stated by Barkan Saeed, Chairman, Pakistan Software Houses Association (Pasha) during a meeting with Dr Sahibzada Ali Mahmood, Managing Director, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, Chairman Pasha Barkan Saeed visited the KPITB. Director Asim Jamshed, Deputy Director Asim Ishaq and other officials were also present on the occasion. During the visit, the Chairman Pasha was given briefing on IT disciplines, training programmes and other projects initiated by the KPITB.
Sahibzada Ali Mahmood, Managing Director, KPITB, informed that under the leadership of Ziaullah Bangash, Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Department of Science and Information Technology was taking firm steps. He spoke about Digital Jobs Project, Pakistan Digital City, IT Parks, Durshal Centers, Early Age Programming and Youth Employment Program.
On the occasion, the Chairman Pasha expressed interest in collaborating with KPITB in various projects and assured to work together for the development of IT sector in the future. He termed Pakistan Digital City Haripur as an important step towards the completion of the Prime Minister's Digital Pakistan project.
Meanwhile, Chairman Pasha Barkan Saeed also visited the country's first BPO 'Work Around' set up in the IT Board. Talking about the facilities and environment available in the project, he said that these were the best facilities for any BPO company. He also talked to the representatives of the companies working in the ‘Work Around’ and termed it as the best investment opportunity for domestic and international BPO companies.
