Prof Salman Ali appointed as Chairman, Urdu Department, UoP

PESHAWAR: A well-known academician and literary personality Prof Dr Salman Ali has been appointed as Chairman, Department of Urdu, University of Peshawar for the second time.
A notification has been issued by the concerned authorities of the UoP on Wednesday, according to which Dr Salman Ali, a professor of Urdu Department has been appointed as the department’s chairman for a period of 3-year.
Prof Dr Salman Ali is a famous name in the field of Urdu language and literature. He has been associated with education and research for the last 25 years and has sound experience in teaching and administration. He has also remained the chairman of Urdu Department for a period of 3-year before the current appointment.
He has done Ph.D from the Qurtuba University, D.I Khan Campus and has authored around 50 research papers published in recognised journals, whereas 30 plus research scholars of M.Phil and Ph.D have completed their research work under his supervision.
The UoP’s administration and faculty as well as friends of Prof Salman Ali have congratulated him on his appointed and expressed their views that he would work hard for the betterment of the department and would prove himself an asset for the university in his future endeavors.
