Collective weddings held, dowry distributed among 50 couples

LANDI KOTAL: A collective weddings ceremony was held on Wednesday last at tehsil Landikotal in which 50 new couples of the underprivileged local residents were tied in the knot of marriage.
The function was organized by Shinwari Welfare Organization (SWO), whereas a music program was also arranged for the amusement of the participants belonging to different parts of the district Khyber. Meanwhile, the dowry packages were also distributed among the newly-married couples by MPA (PK-105) Shafiq Sher, AC Landikotal Mohammad Imran and other notables of the area.
Aslam Shinwari, the president of SWO while addressing the occasion said that last year their team had arranged the collective weddings of 20 couples but this year by the grace of Almighty Allah and with the help of philanthropists they arranged the weddings of 50 couples which was a big achievement.
He stated that philanthropists and financially-sound people should come forward and do some contribution in their noble cause, adding that he and his team would continue their struggle and efforts to help the poor people as much as they can.
