New Afghan Counsel General calls on CM

PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan was called on by the newly-appointed Consul General of Afghanistan Najibullah Ahmadzai on Friday.

During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest with special focus on Afghan refugees living in the province were discussed. Commissioner Afghan Refugees and other staff of the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Peshawar were also present on the occasion.

While talking to the Consul General, the CM Mahmood Khan said that Pakistan and Afghanistan both were brother Islamic countries and the people of both the countries shared common and strong bonds of religion, culture and ethnicity, adding that they were indispensable for each other.

The Consul General Najibullah Ahmadzai expressed his gratitude for the people of Pakistan, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their hospitality extended to Afghan refugees for the last so many years and said that the people of KP as per the Pakhtun traditions had extended matchless hospitality to their Afghan brothers for which he was very thankful.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan expressed his best wishes for the newly-appointed Consul General in Peshawar and hoped that his appointment would make the relationship of both the countries much better and meaningful.
