Health Reporter

PESHAWAR: Anwar Sultana, General Secretary, Provincial Nurses Association (PNA) has said that there were some news in media that the government was going to disintegrate the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) which was not a good and wise decision and if the government thinks so then it should review its planning towards this matter of great concern.

In a press release issued on Friday, Anwar Sultana, GS, PNA, said that PNC was a respected institution and had great importance in the health sector, therefore, if it has any deficiency that should be removed properly, whereas reforms in it would also be highly appreciated, but its disintegration is a total injustice with the profession of nursing and that should not be done at any cost.

She further stated that disintegration of the PNC was like pushing the nurses towards the wall by darkling their career and future, adding that PNA demanded the government to rethink over its policy and declare the 2020 year of nurses as nurses were marvelously fighting the Corona pandemic by sacrificing their lives to safeguard the lives of others.
