PESHAWAR: Nazim, Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, University of Peshawar, Imad Nizami has said that extension of the Vice Chancellor of Peshawar University was against the interests of the university and they would resist if the government do so.
In a press statement issued on Friday, he said that during the tenure of the VC, UoP, the university lost its position on academic, administrative and financial sides and now the university was facing Rs 1 billion losses for the first time in its history, adding that he should be made accountable for his corrupt practices instead of granting him extension.
The IJT’s leader said that the VC was responsible for pushing the university back on every side, adding that raise in all types of fee was done in his tenure as well as he kept continued the anti-students policies all the time.
He further said that most of the senior faculty members were waiting for their promotions on higher grades for the last two years but the VC could not manage to address the issue and that was a good example of his management failure.
