PSF rejects extension of Vice Chancellors

PESHAWAR: Peoples Students Federation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has said that few elements in the provincial government and higher education department were trying to grant extension to some Vice Chancellors but this condemnable act couldn’t be allowed and strong resistance would be showed if it happens.
Riaz Khan Yousufzai, General Secretary, PSF, KP, has said in a press statement issued on Thursday that when the provincial government had already advertised the positions of those Vice Chancellors who were in the last six months period of their tenures, then why they were granting extension?
He said that it was very pertinent to mention that the performance of these VCs was unsatisfactory and they had ruined the universities due to their anti-educational policies and that’s why they should be made accountable instead of granting them extension.
He further said that as these VCs complete their tenures, charge should be given to Pro-Vice Chancellors and meanwhile the process of appointing new VCs should be completed as per law, adding that he expected good response from the provincial government in this regard.
