Anti-Ice awareness seminar held at WUM

MARDAN: District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Sajjad Khan on Tuesday said that the young generation and students could secure their future by avoiding drugs, especially ice and other narcotics.
He expressed these views while addressing an anti-ice awareness seminar organized at Woman University Mardan regarding the anti-ice campaign of Mardan Police. Vice chancellor Prof Dr Ghazala Yasmeen, Chief Proctor Dr Rashida, Assistant Director OVAC Dr Hina, faculty members, teachers and students participated in the awareness seminar. The DPO presented a detailed presentation on multimedia about the disadvantages of ice to the students.
The DPO stated that to control narcotics and especially ice in the district Mardan Police with action also started awareness campaign in this regard. He added that in this regards police had organized several walks and seminars at education institutions to aware the student and young generation about the destruction of use of ice as well as police had arrested several ice smugglers of international gang’s member during different actions.
He further said that police had also recovered huge quantities of ice during many actions. He added that Mardan Police topped the list throughout the province action against ice, land grabbing and people involved in private interest business during 2019. The DPO stated that the goal of a special awareness campaign on drug and ice by Mardan Police was aimed to prevent the types and harms of drugs.
At the seminar, the university’s students and faculty members paid tribute to district police for starting awareness campaign against ice drug in the district and especially in the educational institutions. Students added that it would help them to avoid the use of ice, adding that faculty members and students would support Mardan Police in the great cause.
