Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is teetering on the brink of a huge disaster. Every sector in the city, from cleanliness and roads to lighting, greenery, security, and drinking water, is plagued by problems. The situation is dire, and the KP government’s inaction is only exacerbating the issue.
The city’s infrastructure is crumbling, with potholed roads, inadequate lighting, and a lack of green spaces. The cleanliness situation is appalling, with garbage strewn everywhere and a lack of proper waste management. The security situation is precarious, with street crimes on the rise and a sense of insecurity pervading the city.
But perhaps the most pressing concern is the lack of access to clean drinking water. This basic necessity is being denied to the citizens of Peshawar, and it is imperative that the government must take an immediate action to address this basic problem.
The provincial government’s neglect of these basic sectors is staggering. Therefore, it is high time for the authorities and high-ups to wake up and take notice of the suffering of the people of Peshawar. The city needs a comprehensive plan to address these issues, and it needs it now.
This plan should include investing in infrastructure development, improving waste management, enhancing security measures, and ensuring access to clean drinking water. The government should also engage with the local community, involving them in decision-making process and ensuring that their concerns are properly heard.
It is a fact that Peshawar has the potential to be a thriving and vibrant city, but it needs the government’s attention and investment. So, it is the right time for KP government to prioritize the needs of the people of the city and take concrete steps to address these pressing issues.
