The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s initiatives to improve elementary and secondary education are commendable, but it is imperative to prioritize science education in schools to produce the next generation of scientists and innovators. Recruiting capable science teachers, updating science books and improving labs are crucial steps towards achieving this goal.

A strong foundation in science education is essential for Pakistan’s progress in various fields, including technology, medicine, and engineering. However, the current state of science education in the province is inadequate, with outdated textbooks, ill-equipped labs, and a shortage of qualified teachers.

To address these challenges, the KP government should focus on recruiting and training science teachers who can inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in science. This can be achieved through induction program to get promising results.

Moreover, the government should invest in modernizing science labs and updating textbooks to reflect the latest scientific discoveries and advancements. This will not only enhance the learning experience but also prepare the students for the challenges of the 21st century.

The provincial government’s efforts to improve education is a step in the right direction, however, a focused approach is needed to prioritize science education and make it a cornerstone of the province’s education policy.

By prioritizing science education, the KP government can unlock the potential of its youth and create a brighter future for Pakistan. As the provincial government continues to invest in education, it is essential to remember that better school education, particularly in science, is the key to producing good scientists and driving progress in Pakistan.
