LAKKI MARWAT: The local vendors manhandled assistant commissioner Lakki here on Monday, sources said.
The reports said that Assistant Commissioner Arifullah Khattak along with his security guards checking the price-lists of the shopkeepers and vendors. As he turned towards the vendors, some of the vendors attacked him and started beating him. The security guards fired shots in the air to disperse the people gathered around him.
Some vendors told the Sunrise Today that the AC asked for money from the vendors who attacked him. Seeing the situation, other vendors also started beating the officials. The vendors tried to block the KP-Punjab road against the unethical attitude of the official. The Assistant Sub Inspector Jamil Khan rushed to the spot and dispersed the mob.
It may be mentioned here that two weeks ago the vendors had also staged a protest and blocked the road against the Assistant Commissioner Arifullah Khattak for his inhuman attitude with the vendors.
The vendors accused the AC of asking for money.
