PTCL under fire: Customer slams company for exploitation

Staff Reporter

PESHAWAR: In a shocking incident, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has come under criticism for exploiting its customers in Peshawar. A disgruntled customer has shared his harrowing experience, alleging that PTCL disconnected his telephone and internet services despite timely payment.

According to the customer, he received a message from PTCL on 18th February in morning, urging him to pay his bill by 19th February to avoid late payment surcharge. Complying with the request, the customer paid his bill in afternoon of 18th February well within the stipulated timeframe.

However, to his astonishment, the customer discovered that his services had been disconnected. Upon contacting PTCL’s helpline, he was told to wait for two hours to have his connection restored. The customer expressed outrage and disappointment, questioning the logic behind disconnecting his services despite timely payment.

“This is unacceptable,” the customer said. “PTCL’s actions are a clear violation of customer rights. I demand that the government and high-ups take immediate action against PTCL and hold them accountable for their exploitative practices.”

The incident has sparked widespread concern among PTCL customers, who are calling for greater transparency and accountability from the telecommunications giant.

“It is not just about one customer; it is about the systemic issues within PTCL that allow such injustices to occur,” a local resident stated. “The government and PTA must intervene to protect consumer rights and ensure that PTCL is held accountable for its actions.”
