Dr Najeeb Ullah appointed as Member, Planning Commission

ISLAMABAD: The Planning Commission of Pakistan on the directions of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appointed renowned scientist from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr Najeeb Ullah as Member, Science, Technology & ICT.

A notification has been issued here the other day, according to which Dr Najeeb will serve the Commission for two years. In this strategic role, he will oversee the comprehensive development portfolios of the Ministry of IT, Ministry of Science & Technology, and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

In his statement, Dr Najeeb thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Planning & Development Ahsan Iqbal, and said that he would try his best to follow their visionary leadership and commitment for the progress and development of Pakistan through science and technology.

The family members and friends of Dr Najeeb have congratulated him on his appointment and stated that it was a great achievement for the whole Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It is worth to mention here that he has done PhD in Materials Science and Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge, UK, while he has served as Caretaker Provincial Minister of Science & Technology KP, as well as former Member of the Planning Commission.
