Hayatabad’s broken boundary wall
Editorial
The once-secure and serene Hayatabad township of Peshawar is now a vulnerable haven, courtesy of its broken boundary wall. The crumbling barriers have become an open invitation to outsiders, allowing them to trespass and tarnish the environment with impunity. Moreover, the compromised security has emboldened robbers and dacoits, who are taking advantage of the situation to loot houses, leaving residents in a state of perpetual fear.
The increasing crime rate is a direct consequence of the administration’s apathy towards this critical issue. The Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has remained inexplicably silent, despite the gravity of the situation. The residents of Hayatabad, who were once proud of their secure community, now feel betrayed by the authorities’ inaction.
It is imperative that the PDA should take immediate action to repair and reinforce the boundary wall, ensuring the safety and security of Hayatabad’s residents, while it’s silence is not only frustrating but also alarming, as it suggests a lack of concern for the well-being of the people.
Therefore, the PDA must break its silence and take concrete steps to address this critical issue, because, the residents of Hayatabad deserve a safe and secure environment and it is the PDA’s basic responsibility to ensure that.
