PhD scholar Riaz Khan defends thesis

PESHAWAR: A research scholar, Mohammad Riaz Khan of the University of Peshawar successfully defended his PhD dissertation under the title “Molecular Characterization and Epidemiology of Antibiotic Resistance Genes of Beta-Lactamase Producing Bacterial Pathogens Causing Septicemia from Tertiary Care Hospitals”, here the other day.
Scholar Riaz Khan said, “Under the supervision of Dr Ibrar Khan, Associate Professor at the Center of Biotechnology and Microbiology, University of Peshawar, it would not have been possible for me to complete my thesis well and in time.”
The PhD scholar was asked to answer several technical questions related to his research work raised by the panel of examiners and participants of the public defense, which he confidently answered for their satisfaction.
On the basis of the thesis evaluation reports, viva voce examination and public defense, Mohammad Riaz Khan was recommended for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology.
The scholar was grateful to his supervisor Dr Ibrar Khan who provided him regular guidance and support during this task. He said, “It would not have been possible without the support of my supervisor.” He also extended his thanks to Dr Sadiq Azam, Qaisar Khan and Dr Noor Rehman.
“This achievement was not possible without the support and prayers of my parents, family members, friends and teachers,” Riaz Khan stated. He dedicated his research work to those who sacrificed their lives for the democracy, peace and betterment of the country.
