School principal booked for threatening DEO Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: The district education officer booked a school principal for allegedly threatening him over a transfer issue of a high school teacher.
The police said that District Education Officer Muhammad Ilyas Khan submitted a complaint with Ghaznikhel Police stating that Khalid Wahab, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School Tajazai, came to his office on January 11 at 2 pm in aggressive mode to have SST Irshadullah transferred from Government High School Paharkhel Pacca to Government Higher Secondary School Tajazai despite the fact that there was a ban on postings and transfers.
He said that prior to this, he had incited the local people to besiege DEO in person and his subordinates until his illegal demand was fulfilled. He added that luckily, the incited people were restricted by the police at the main gate of the Town Complex.
The DEO stated that on January 11 the principal had used not only harsh words but also abusive language and violated the office decorum, saying that the principal threatened him of dire consequences in the presence of his subordinates, media persons and Ghaznikhel Tehsil Mayor.
He alleged that besides, the principal had also abused former DEO Lakki Marwat Zahoor Khan, in a meeting at the Government Shaheed Behram Ahmed Khan Higher Secondary School Serai Naurang, adding that since 2012, almost all the DEOs posted at Lakki Marwat had been abused and disgraced by this unbecoming principal.
He also alleged that the principal was totally unfit and menace for the education department as he was abusive, disgraceful and unprofessional by nature. He asked the police and high-ups of the education department to take disciplinary action against him and post him out of the district.
When this scribe personally visited the school to see the principal and teachers where the Principal Khalid Wahab turned down all the allegations reported to the police against him by the DEO, saying that there had been a shortage of teachers at the school since long and he personally visited several times the DEO office in this regard.
He said that he along with the students’ parents visited the DEO office but to no avail, continuing that they also approached the Additional Deputy Commissioner Tariqullah to resolve the issue of the teachers’ shortage in the school, who directed the DEO to do the needful, but in vain.
Regarding the transfer issue of SST teacher, Irshadullah, the principal said that the headmaster of GHS Paharkhel Pacca and principal (he) gave no objection certificates plus approved by the committee constituted by the DEO office, but despite that the DEO was making lame excuse of ban. He alleged that one teacher Obaidullah was transferred in back date while actually his transfer was made during the ban period.
Finally, he said, “While signing my personal file the DEO admitted that I am honest, dutiful and sincere in performing my duties but after few days he submitted a complaint to the police that I turned out to be unbecoming and unprofessional.”
